Toyota Yaris GRMN 220 horsepower coming to Europe

Toyota Yaris GRMN has a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, 220 horsepower. Compared to Ford Fiesta ST, Yaris GRMN is superior in terms of driving feeling on the highway.

Toyota hasn't focused much on developing the Yaris in the US market. However, in Europe, the Yaris has become a trend, where hot-hatch models are popular. The Yaris GRMN was recently promoted at the Nurburgring, it is more anticipated than the Ford Focus RS.

GRMN stands for Gazoo Racing tuned by Meisters of the Nurburgring. The Toyota Yaris GRMN is inspired by the company's racing cars in the World Rally Championship.

The Yaris GRMN has a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, 220 horsepower and 249.4 Nm of maximum torque, with a 6-speed front-wheel drive transmission, with a top speed of 225 km/h.

The Yaris GRMN's suspension will also be lowered, with stiffer springs, upgraded Sachs shock absorbers, a Torsen limited-slip differential and 17-inch alloy wheels from BBS.

The Yaris GRMN will also get four-piston front brakes, plus large-diameter anti-rust struts front and rear.

Inside, the Yaris GRMN gets front bucket seats made by the Lexus LFA team, aluminum pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a battery pack borrowed from its GT86 sibling. The exterior gets a diffuser, a rear spoiler, and a center-mounted exhaust tip.

Toyota received good feedback in Europe after announcing this new model to the press.

Toyota's model is expected to compete with the Ford Focus ST200 and Renault Sport Clio RS. However, the production quantity of this model is limited to only 400 units for the European market, including 100 units in the UK.

The selling price of Toyota Yaris GRMN is about 30,470 USD, equivalent to GT86./.
