A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that to ensure information confidentiality, the education sector will not post student lists at schools, and parents will view them on the electronic portal.

According to Mr. Ho Tan Minh - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, parents with identification codes can log in to the enrollment data section from May 1 to May 11 to check whether the data is correct or not. If correct, parents have 10 days to test the enrollment process.

The education sector will conduct training for each school, detailing each content. Parents do not need to go to school to submit applications, everything is done online, and results are viewed online.

To ensure information security, the education sector does not post student lists at schools; parents can view them on the electronic portal. From May 1 to May 10, the electronic portal will be open for parents to check information. If the information is incorrect, parents should contact their child's school or the locality where the population data was declared to check and update.

Recently, in Ho Chi Minh City and some other localities nationwide, there have been cases of parents being scammed by “children in hospital emergency” subjects and losing hundreds of millions of dong. Public opinion has raised the question of where the scammers get the information of students and parents.

Previously, Mr. Ho Tan Minh - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed that data serving the digital transformation work of the education sector is strictly confidential, so the leakage of parents' information does not originate from the education sector.

At the seminar on information gaps and solutions to ensure network security in schools, Captain Huynh Do Tan Thinh, Criminal Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that every day, the Criminal Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police receives 20-30 complaints from people about being scammed. The methods of scamming are very diverse, such as borrowing the names of acquaintances, using images, and even borrowing the names of state agencies.

Regarding the source of the information gap, Captain Tan Thinh said that 20% of the time, businesses and agencies leak information; 80% of the time, individuals leak information themselves. In particular, the current Gen Z generation is leaking their information by participating in social networks such as TikTok...

Some teachers assert that the school takes the confidentiality of student information very seriously. However, the difficulty is that when something happens to a student, partners want to get student information. Simply put, a milk company that gives away milk also asks for information from the children who drink the milk.

In addition, universities come to ask for student information for admission purposes. In addition, teachers warn that to avoid revealing student information, parents should limit showing off their children's achievements on social networks./.
