(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of July 25th, the Vinh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting with the families of officers and soldiers of the Navy, Coast Guard, and Fisheries Surveillance Force who are currently serving to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands in the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

Attending the meeting were Comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee, and representatives of the families of naval, fisheries, and coast guard officers and soldiers currently residing in Vinh City.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee - requested that Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations, and all sectors of the population continue to support "jointly contributing to the protection of maritime sovereignty" through many practical actions; and to care for and assist families whose loved ones are serving in the sacred defense of the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the leaders of Vinh City presented gifts to the families of naval officers and soldiers, coast guard officers, and fisheries inspectors, with a total value of nearly 124 million VND. This is also a practical and meaningful activity of Vinh City towards commemorating the 67th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2014) and the 50th anniversary of Vinh City's first victory (August 5, 1964 - August 5, 2014).
