Vinh City: Strongly handle hot spots of sidewalk re-encroachment

(Baonghean.vn) - HA series of hot spots of violations of sidewalk encroachment and traffic safety corridors have been detected.Vinh City Rapid Response Team handled the situation on August 26.

According to information from the scouts, at some hot spots such as: In front of the gate of Nghe An Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, Hermann Gmeiner Street, Vinh University Market, Nguyen Du Street, Phong Dinh Cang... the situation of people encroaching on the sidewalk to sell goods, breakfast, and motorbikes parked haphazardly has recurred.

The rapid response team met to discuss and assign tasks to each working group. The team mobilized forces along with forklifts, specialized vehicles, and trucks to handle violations.

At Hermann Gmeiner Street, where there are many breakfast shops, many customers' motorbikes were parked on the street, obstructing traffic. The rapid response force handled and temporarily confiscated the papers and vehicles parked illegally. After handling only the first location, both trucks were almost full, because many illegal items were confiscated.

In front of the gate of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, when the rapid response force arrived, dozens of shops displayed their goods on the road, many grocery carts and porridge carts were left haphazardly occupying the entire road reserved for motor vehicles, causing traffic congestion. The rapid response force blocked the scene and quickly handled the violations. All the carts and vehicles violating the law were brought to the headquarters of the Vinh City Mobile Police Team for handling.

On main roads such as Nguyen Du, Phong Dinh Cang, etc., many shops selling groceries and soft drinks displayed their goods on the sidewalks and left motorbikes haphazardly on the road. The rapid response force warned and temporarily detained the violating goods and vehicles.

Vinh University Market is one of the places where buying and selling has been taking place on the sidewalk for a long time, traffic is very complicated, and many traffic accidents have occurred. People have also reported many times, and the authorities have also cleared it, but the buying and selling situation still recurs. When seeing the silhouette of the rapid response force from afar, many households quickly cleaned up the goods displayed on the sidewalk and road. However, the Rapid Response Team was present in time to handle the violations, cleared the illegal parking lot on the sidewalk of Nguyen Du Street, and temporarily detained many vehicles and goods.

Major Phan Hien - Deputy Captain of the Mobile Police Team of Vinh City Police said: The Rapid Response Team will continue to handle violations of urban order, encroachment on sidewalks and traffic safety corridors, especially thoroughly resolving long-standing hot spots in Vinh City. At the same time, this is considered a regular and continuous task. For cases that continue to recur after being handled, the Team will take strong measures to re-establish civilized urban order.

On the first day of operation today (August 26), the Vinh City Rapid Response Team temporarily seized 16 motorbikes, electric vehicles, 24 sets of motorbike documents, 10 street vendor carts, 14 sets of tables and chairs, 1 key cutting machine, 12 fruit boxes and many umbrellas and tarpaulins, and decided to fine 22 cases with a total of nearly 6 million VND.
