Vinh City: Launching a city-wide campaign to build irrigation systems.

(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, October 10th, a ceremony was held in Hung Chinh commune, Vinh City, to launch the 2014 nationwide irrigation campaign.

The people of Hung Chinh commune are dredging irrigation canals in the fields.

The purpose of this campaign is to create favorable conditions for the 2014 winter crop and the 2015 winter-spring crop, while also combating flooding and pollution in the area. Through this, it aims to raise people's awareness and proactive approach to responding to situations during the rainy and stormy season.

Accordingly, the people and all levels of government and organizations will participate in repairing and dredging key infrastructure, irrigation canal systems in the fields and urban areas, and river dikes. The goal is for the entire city to excavate and dredge over 100 cubic meters and reinforce nearly 22,000 meters of irrigation canals in the fields and urban areas.
