Vinh City launches campaign to combat crime and firecrackers during Tet Dinh Dau (Lunar New Year)
(Baonghean.vn) - To maintain social stability and ensure that people can celebrate a joyful and safe traditional Tet holiday, on the afternoon of January 24th, the People's Committee of Vinh City organized a campaign to prevent crime and firework explosions during Tet Dinh Dau 2017.

Every year during the Lunar New Year holiday, the crime situation in Vinh City becomes extremely complex, especially the illegal use of firecrackers. To maintain social stability and ensure that people can celebrate the traditional Tet holiday safely and joyfully, at the launch ceremony, the Vinh City People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of wards and communes to coordinate closely with the police force, closely monitor their areas, increase patrols, and promptly detect, combat, and strictly handle offenders and those who illegally use firecrackers during Tet.
The People's Committee of Vinh City has requested the city's police force to focus on strongly suppressing individuals who intentionally inflict injuries, disrupt public order, steal property, extort money, and engage in dangerous criminal networks and organizations, in order to ensure security and order in the area before, during, and after the Lunar New Year (Year of the Rooster).

Following the launch ceremony, law enforcement officers paraded along the city's main streets to raise public awareness and promote a sense of responsibility.
