(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City is determined to reclaim sidewalks for pedestrians, according to the direction of comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee at the meeting of the Urban Order Steering Committee held on the afternoon of April 3.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee focused on discussing and finalizing the contents surrounding the plan to prepare for the implementation of the work of clearing traffic safety corridors and ensuring urban order in the city, implementing the "Year of Urban Order 2017".

According to the plan, from April 15 to December 10, 2017, Vinh City will organize forces to enforce demolition of households that do not comply. In parallel with the implementation of clearance of traffic safety corridors, regular inspection teams will be established to maintain clearance results and prevent re-encroachment.

In addition, adjust and supplement the traffic sign system; draw lines on the sidewalk to determine the road section for pedestrians, the area for 2-wheeled vehicles, draw lane lines, temporary parking lines on the road; lower the curb, build some scattered parking spots, install surveillance cameras on some roads...

The members of the Steering Committee also pointed out some difficulties and solutions to effectively implement the plan. Thereby, creating a clear and positive change in urban civilized order, sidewalk order, environmental sanitation, traffic safety and order in the awareness of all classes of people, contributing to making the city more beautiful, cleaner, gradually civilized and modern./.
