Vinh City: Santa Claus services are in high demand during the Christmas season.
(Baonghean.vn) - In recent years, the demand for hiring Santa Claus to deliver gifts to children has been increasing. In Vinh City, this service is currently very popular, helping many young people earn a considerable extra income.
Every Christmas season, in addition to gifts and eye-catching decorations, the Santa Claus service is also sought after by many people. In Vinh City these days, quite a number of young people, mainly students, have formed small groups to play the role of Santa Claus and give gifts to children throughout the city.

Nguyen Manh Hung, a man who plays Santa Claus in Vinh City, said: "We formed a group to deliver gifts on Christmas Eve, then advertised on Facebook so that anyone in need could register. This work not only provides extra income but also brings joy to the children, so everyone enjoys it and is enthusiastic."
According to Mr. Hung, the operation of this service is extremely simple. Parents will secretly prepare gifts for Santa Claus, and then Santa Claus will deliver the gifts to the children's homes at pre-arranged times.

Ms. Nguyen Anh Ngoc, a resident of Ben Thuy ward, shared: "My work is getting busier and busier, so sometimes I don't have time for my children. This service makes me very happy because it can bring joy to the children. They are very excited to wait and listen to Santa Claus's instructions."
Although it only lasts for about a week, it's considered a lucrative season for young people. In Vinh City, this service is currently in high demand, with the price for giving gifts to each child ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 VND per visit.

However, this figure is not fixed; the price will depend on the day, time of delivery, and the distance Santa Claus travels. If customers request deliveries on December 20th, 21st, or 22nd, the price will be cheaper (from 30,000 to 40,000 VND per delivery); but if deliveries are on the 23rd or 24th, the price may double.The gift-giving mainly takes place in the evenings, and on average, each group distributes gifts to dozens of children each night.
However, not everyone can "play the role" of Santa Claus. To do this, the actor must meet two criteria: firstly, they must be tall and stout; secondly, they must be articulate, cheerful, and have a sense of humor to bring joy to children.
