Vinh City summarizes the 2011-2012 school year.
(Baonghean.vn) -In the 2011-2012 academic year, Vinh City continued to maintain its position as the leading unit in the entire province in terms of both advanced and general education quality.
Awards were presented to groups and individuals who achieved outstanding results during the 2011-2012 school year.
The City Department of Education and Training was recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as an outstanding institution in physical education and the Phu Dong Sports Festival during the 2008-2012 period. 100% of kindergartens implemented the new education program, 99.7% of 5th-grade students completed the primary school program, and Vinh City ranked first in the province in online English competitions and the Children's Mathematics Olympiad. National-level competitions also yielded high results. At the lower secondary level, there were 466 outstanding students at the city level and 86 outstanding students at the provincial level. In the entrance exams for specialized high schools at the provincial, ministerial, and city levels, over 60% of students were admitted. The high school graduation rate reached 99%. Schools also invested over 110 billion VND in infrastructure. During the year, 3 schools achieved national standards.
For the 2012-2013 school year, Vinh City set out five key tasks: Universal preschool education for 5-year-olds; increasing the percentage of schools meeting national standards; reviewing the scale of the school network; implementing the foreign language teaching project; and continuing to build school discipline.
