Vinh City: Deploying traffic safety and information technology work in 2012
(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, January 6, Vinh City People's Committee - Traffic Safety Committee held a conference to summarize the work of ensuring traffic safety and information technology in 2011 and deploy tasks for 2012.
In 2011, the city held many political events and cultural and sports activities that attracted many people and vehicles to participate in traffic. The city has implemented many tasks to ensure traffic safety and order, especially focusing on the peak period of the third quarter of 2011 and Traffic Safety Month. Continue to promote the construction, renovation and upgrading of roads, sidewalks, water supply and drainage systems, lighting systems and cultural and public works. However, there are still cases of young people driving motorbikes in a zigzag pattern on the roads around Ho Chi Minh Square on holidays and weekends; cars stopping and parking illegally... causing traffic obstruction and public frustration.
The City People's Committee has focused on directing all levels, sectors, and mass organizations to implement the work of ensuring traffic safety and information technology in a synchronous and effective manner, especially the Plans, Directive Documents, and Implementation Plans to ensure traffic safety throughout the city. At the same time, many propaganda contents have been deployed to raise people's awareness of law compliance; and to strengthen the clearance of encroachment on traffic safety corridors on key routes, markets, construction areas, and public areas.
Urban beautification and urban management are also carried out very seriously. Infrastructure serving traffic safety such as signs, traffic lights, and road markings are always maintained and upgraded promptly. Wards and communes continue to build traffic works, sidewalks, and drainage ditches. In conjunction with the 2011 Lunar New Year, the City People's Committee has directed to strengthen the work of ensuring traffic safety and traffic order to ensure good service for the travel, living, and entertainment needs of the people, especially in key routes. Deploy peak periods of patrolling, controlling, and strictly handling violations of traffic safety and public order. Thereby, 48,167 cases have been administratively sanctioned, and more than 12 billion 200 million VND has been paid to the state treasury. Recorded 26 cases of swerving motorbike drivers, 239 motorbikes, investigated to clarify the origin of 62 stolen motorbikes...
On this occasion, the City also organized the implementation of key tasks for the coming year 2012, including continuing to implement Resolutions, Tasks, Plans, and Directions from higher levels. Raising the responsibility of state management in the field of ensuring traffic safety and information technology, considering this a key task in setting out Resolutions of the Party Committee, plans of units and People's Committees of wards and communes. Strengthening the dissemination of laws on traffic safety and information technology to all people. So that all people understand and comply with the goal of building a civilized, clean and beautiful Vinh City.
On this occasion, many individuals and groups were awarded for their outstanding achievements in ensuring traffic safety and information technology in the past year; the City People's Committee also organized the completion of the Traffic Safety Committee with 21 members and a support unit of 8 people, to help the Traffic Safety Committee operate more effectively in the coming year.
