Reuters reported that Qi Dacai was the vice chairman and director of China Southern Power Grid Corporation until he was investigated for corruption in March.

Prosecutors from the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China said that the People's Procuratorate in Guangdong Province has approved an arrest warrant and the investigation is ongoing. No further details were provided.

China Southern Power Grid Corporation has not yet commented on the matter.

The Chinese Communist Party has launched corruption investigations targeting several large state-owned companies this year, including China Southern Grid Corporation, China Energy Investment Corporation, and State-owned Nuclear Power Technology Group.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has declared that he will hunt down all powerful "tigers" as well as petty "flies" in his anti-corruption campaign.

Several former high-ranking officials have been caught in this campaign, including former Public Security Minister Zhou Yongkang, one of China's most powerful men, who was sentenced to life imprisonment last week.
