China officially puts J-20 stealth fighter into service: Will F-22 and F-35 "stick around"?
At a press conference on September 28, Chinese Ministry of Defense spokesman Wu Qian confirmed that the J-20 stealth fighter had officially been put into service.
At the parade celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), a squadron of three J-20 fighter jets appeared for the first time, attracting a lot of attention.

Especially in the live TV screen that first showed the cockpit of J-20, although the details and layout of the cockpit were not clearly seen, the pilot's helmet was very eye-catching.
An anonymous military commentator said"This product meets the J-20 standard, becoming the pilot helmet of the 4th generation of combat, it is a modern product of the world's top pilot helmet".
He believes that for fighter pilots flying at high speeds, to complete technical maneuvers and quickly adapt to constantly changing situations, flight helmets are especially important, not only for soundproofing and maintaining communication with the outside, but also to provide all information such as aircraft status, combat situations, etc.

According to him, the pilot's helmet of a third-generation fighter does not have a display system, but only a display screen and an on-board aiming device, and the field of vision is limited to the naked eye, which is very narrow. After the radar detects the target, the pilot must point the plane's nose towards the enemy fighter's position to be able to aim and fire.
When the target's tilt angle exceeds ±60° relative to the aircraft, the missile cannot be launched, which is very disadvantageous in air combat.
On 4th generation fighters or more modern, this information will be displayed on the helmet display, which is very convenient. On the other hand, when fighting, pilots have to aim, lock and launch missiles, which is very complicated, so integrating the aiming system into the helmet display system will help pilots perform their tasks better, improving combat effectiveness.
Based on the recently appeared photos of the J-20 fighter's helmet, this military commentator speculates that the outside of the helmet is very simple, without any interface devices such as external aiming devices, indicating that this helmet has a display function on the helmet.
Through this interview, it can be seen that the J-20's sensor equipment has a very large capacity, and the information of these sensors will also be displayed on the J-20's helmet, which also includes the electro-optical target designation system (EOTS).
The official commissioning of the J-20 shows that all state-level testing has been completed and that China's fifth-generation stealth fighter may have begun mass production.
In the context of the increasingly tense situation on the Korean Peninsula, with the appearance of more and more modern fighter jets such as the F-22 and F-35 "hovering" around China, the use of the J-20 can somewhat reassure the country's Air Force, as they will soon overwhelm the expensive US aircraft in terms of numbers.
