TR Transformer II - Thai Hummer priced at 41,500 USD

Thai Rung (TR) is a company founded in 1967 specializing in manufacturing plastic and metal parts and accessories for cars, as well as assembling specialized vehicles such as buses, ambulances, refrigerated trucks and even modified products. The company was once famous for its MUV4 models used for the military and Transformer I.

Recently, the company introduced the second generation Transformer II. The car was designed by British designer Steve Harper in the style of Iron Man, the iron man in the movie series of the same name. Before being sold, the SUV went through safety tests and smooth operation for customers.

Transformer II is developed based on the Toyota Hilux pickup truck, using a 2.4-liter engine. The car is suitable for daily driving because the Revolve package that Toyota offers for Hilux has increased comfort, and Thai Rung has redesigned the doors, roof, and convenient electric windows.

The car has 5 seats, the size is still similar to the basic Hilux, 4,988 mm long, 1,852 mm wide, 1,980 mm high and wheelbase 3,085 mm.

2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine produces 150 horsepower at 3,400 rpm, maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,600-2,600 rpm, 6-speed automatic transmission. Speed ​​can reach 140-160 km/h.

According to Motortrivia reporter's comments during a test drive in Thailand, despite being larger and more cumbersome, Transformer II offers smoother and more emotional operation than the original 4-door Hilux.

Thai Rung sells the Transformer II 5-seat 2.4-liter version for $41,500. In addition, the company also offers the 2.8 4WD 6MT version for $44,000. If customers want to carry more people, the Transformer MAX 9-seat and 11-seat are priced at $43,800 (2.4-liter) and $46,400 (2.8-liter).
