Returned over 37 million VND to the person who lost it
(Baonghean.vn) - After receiving back more than 37 million VND that he had just lost, Mr. Le Van Hoang and his wife, from Thanh Ha commune (Thanh Chuong, Nghe An), currently residing in Da Nang city, were extremely excited.
Mr. Hoang said that at around 4:20 p.m. on March 28, he went to an electronics store near the People's Committee of Hoa Son Commune (Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City) to buy goods. After choosing the items and taking out his wallet to pay, he discovered that his wallet was missing.
At around 6:30 p.m. the same day, Mr. Hoang received the good news, "someone had picked up his wallet and was waiting for him to come and claim it." Through investigation, it was learned that Mr. Ton That Cuong and a man named Viet, residing on Au Co Street, Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City, picked up the wallet on their way home from work.
The wallet contained 1,300 USD, 8.5 million VND, 2 SIM cards and some documents such as a driver's license and an ID card in the name of Le Van Hoang. They took the wallet, money and related documents home and waited for the owner to come and claim it.

Mr. Cuong's son, Ton That Vu - a police officer working in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city, was at home at the time, witnessed the incident, used his phone to take pictures of the things his father had just picked up and posted them on Facebook, along with information to find the owner: "Currently, I have picked up a wallet with a large amount of money, so if anyone knows who the owner is, please contact me."
After receiving the news, Mr. Hoang went to Mr. Viet's house, explained the situation, and wanted to get the wallet back. After confirming that Mr. Hoang was the owner of the wallet, Mr. Cuong and Mr. Viet happily returned the wallet with all the money and related documents to the owner.
Receiving the money he had lost, Mr. Hoang happily said: “My wife and I were building a house and dropped the money when we went to buy something. We thought the money was gone forever and were feeling sad when someone called to claim it. Luckily, we met a good person who found the wallet and returned everything. My wife and I were so happy that we offered to give them some money back as a thank you, but everyone refused.”
Discussing the matter of posting information about returning the money, Mr. Vu said: “The truth is, my father found the money, I was just the one posting the news. It’s not a big deal, picking up lost property and returning it to its owner is a citizen’s responsibility.”
