Village boy hunts down gamer for 'looking at him'

Thinking that the man playing video games was looking at them, Nam and Duc took a knife and a chair and attacked the victim, sending him to the hospital.

On October 8, Huong Khe District Police (Ha Tinh) announced that they had just prosecuted and detained Tran Trong Nam (27 years old) and Ha Huy Duc (22 years old, residing in Phu Phong commune) for the crime of Intentional Infliction of Injury.

According to the investigation documents, at around 2:00 p.m. on July 2, Nam went to an internet cafe in Huong Khe town to look for an acquaintance. There, he saw Nguyen Viet Anh (33 years old) sitting and playing video games looking at him. Nam thought that this guy was looking at him, so he started a fight, and a conflict arose.

Nam returned home and invited Duc to bring weapons back to the bar to "talk". When they arrived, Nam used a knife and Duc grabbed a chair to attack and slash Viet Anh, causing serious injuries and requiring emergency hospitalization.

According to authorities, Nam and Duc are local "bad guys" who always act like gangsters and like to show off.
