The SIM that customers are using is only a GSM SIM that allows the use of 2G and 3G networks.

When upgrading to 4G, the technology standard requires USIM. Therefore, customers need to switch to a new type of SIM card that integrates both GSM SIM and USIM functions to be able to use all three networks 2G, 3G, 4G according to their preferences.

Many carriers allow the use of old 2G SIMs on 3G networks, but USIM is required to authenticate and secure connections on 4G networks. Therefore, existing SIM cards that are not the new USIM type will have to be changed to use 4G services.
