(Baonghean.vn)- While anchored on the shore, a fishing boat that had just returned from a long trip at sea suddenly tilted and sank overnight. Hundreds of people were mobilized to quickly rescue the boat.

Hundreds of fishermen are using ropes to pull a sunken boat ashore at night.

On the morning of October 20, Mr. Nguyen Van Uoc, Chairman of Tien Thuy Commune People's Committee, Quynh Luu District, said: fishing boat number 93348 TS of Mr. Truong Van Trang (38 years old), residing in Tien Thuy Commune, Quynh Luu District, is being brought to the mainland for repairs. The estimated damage of the sunken boat is over 3 billion VND.

Earlier, at 9:00 p.m. on October 19, while anchored at Lach Quen fishing port, the fishing boat tilted and gradually sank into the sea. When the incident was discovered, people quickly called for help. On shore, hundreds of people followed and used ropes to pull the boat to shore; underwater, 3 large ships were mobilized to keep the boat balanced and gradually pull Mr. Trang's boat to shore.

At 11pm the same day, after being actively rescued by local people and authorities, the ship was brought safely to shore.

The cause of the sinking was that the fishermen had previously stacked ice to preserve the fish and it was off-side, causing the ship to sink.
