The first fast charging station in Vietnam
The Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) has just held the inauguration ceremony of the EVNCPC building's grid-connected rooftop solar power project and put into use the first electric car/fast charging station in Vietnam.
The EVNCPC building's grid-connected rooftop solar power system was consulted, designed and constructed by the Central Power Electronic Measurement Equipment Manufacturing Center under EVNCPC with a total capacity of 50 kWp, installed on an area of 298 m2, using Mitsubishi Electric-Japan solar panels with an efficiency of 16.7% and German SMA Inverter converter with an efficiency of 98.4%.
The project started construction at the end of August 2017 and has just been accepted and put into use with an average solar energy output of 108 kWh/day, meeting over 10% of the building's consumption.

The charging station is capable of fully charging a car in 30 minutes, for a range of 160 km. |
Currently, EVNCPC has been implementing rooftop solar power projects for power companies and the Central High Voltage Grid Company. In the next phases, the project will be expanded to the headquarters of each power company and high voltage branch as well as the roofs of 110 kV transformer stations.
On this occasion, EVNCPC also put into use 2 new electric cars to serve EVNCPC's passenger pick-up and drop-off in Da Nang to promote the application of smart grids, use of clean energy to protect the environment, contributing to enhancing the image and brand of Da Nang city as a green - clean - beautiful, livable city.
Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan, General Director of EVNCPC said, implementing the direction of the Prime Minister and Vietnam Electricity Group on the implementation of the project to develop smart grids in Vietnam, EVNCPC has been investing and researching to develop smart grids according to the planned roadmap.
In particular, the project "Research on integrating new and renewable energy sources" is a very important component aiming to reduce the need for investment in developing power sources and grids; enhance the rational exploitation of energy resources, ensure national energy security, contribute to environmental protection and sustainable socio-economic development.
Therefore, implementing grid-connected rooftop solar power projects and investing in the use of all-electric cars, researching and building charging stations using grid power combined with power from solar power systems are extremely necessary to gradually realize the search for alternative energy sources as well as solutions for using and bringing clean energy sources into practical applications in the context of fossil fuel sources gradually being depleted.
