Equip speaking skills, provide information to the press and handle media crises for localities and units.

On the morning of November 9, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department organized a training course on speaking skills, providing information to the press and handling media crises for leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and Centers for Culture, Sports and Communications of districts and cities.

Nghe An currently has 83 press agencies located in the area. Over the past years, the work of communication, speaking and providing information to the press has been well performed by state administrative agencies in the province.

However, there are still some agencies and localities that have not been proactive and have not promptly provided and responded to information to the press when requested or when an incident occurs.

Besides, some agencies and units consider communication work as the task of press agencies, not the responsibility of agencies and units. On the other hand, communication work is still confused, not meeting the information needs of the people.

In the current conditions, with the strong development of media and especially social media, media crisis becomes a big challenge for agencies, units and localities. Proactively and promptly providing information to the press to help public opinion and the social community understand clearly and correctly the activities of agencies, units and localities is an effective method in handling media crisis.

Providing information to the press is an extremely important task to help bring the policies and guidelines of the sector, unit as well as the province to the people; through that, these policies and guidelines can reach the people and create high consensus. If well applied, the mass media will greatly support the implementation of political tasks of departments, sectors, units and localities.

At the conference, Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Head of the Topics and Special Issues Department, Communist Magazine discussed the topic: "Speaking skills, providing information to the press and handling media crises".

The topic helps delegates understand more fully about the work of speaking and providing information to the press in order to promptly respond and best resolve issues reported by the press; further improve the quality and effectiveness of speaking and providing information to the press in the area. From there, flexibly and creatively apply in providing timely and complete information to the press, meeting the requirements and common tasks of the locality, agency, unit and the province.

The conference also provided Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Head of the Special Topics and Special Issues Department, Communist Magazine, with necessary skills in handling information crises, approaches to key issues when a media crisis occurs, and methods for handling media crises occurring in localities, agencies, and units.

Also at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Ba Hao disseminated the content of statements, providing information in the press and handling information published in the press, information reflected on social networks of state administrative agencies in Nghe An province according to Decision No. 29, dated November 6, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee. In this newly issued document, Nghe An has stipulated the responsibilities of state administrative agencies, cadres, civil servants and public employees in handling "information reflected on social networks".

This regulation aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of the performance of duties and public services of cadres, civil servants and public employees in Nghe An; help authorities take the initiative in handling subjects who take advantage of social networks to post false information, insulting the reputation of organizations and the honor and dignity of individuals.
