According to Mr. Moong Van Quang, Secretary of the Party Cell of Na Be village, the cause of the fire was initially determined to be that Mr. Lin Van May's family, while celebrating the New Year, carelessly let the fire spread to the floor and completely burned down Mr. May's house. At that time, there was a strong wind, causing the fire to spread to the house of Mr. Xeo Van Duong and Moong Van Man, who lived next door.

As soon as the fire was discovered, the villagers and forces in the village came to the rescue, but the fire spread too quickly, because all 3 houses of these 3 households were made of bamboo and thatch, so the fire could not be extinguished.

As a result, Mr. Lin Van May's house and Xeo Van Duong's house were completely burned down, with total estimated damage of over 100 million VND. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
