Solemn ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity at An Thai Pagoda
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 5 (February 28, Dinh Dau year), the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and An Thai Pagoda (Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district) held a Grand Ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity; commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Great Elder Monk Thich Thanh Ban's death and receive the National Great Unity Medal.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; provincial departments, branches and sectors and thousands of monks, nuns and Buddhists inside and outside the province. |
Speaking at the grand ceremony to pray for peace and award the Great National Unity Medal to Venerable Thich Thanh Ban, comrade Le Xuan Dai sent his best wishes to the Executive Council, religious dignitaries, and all monks, nuns, and Buddhists.
He affirmed that throughout the country's history, Buddhism has always accompanied the nation, contributing to the patriotic tradition of the Vietnamese people.
During the process of building and defending the country and forming the Unified Buddhist Sangha, Buddhism has developed strongly, contributing to the construction and protection of the Fatherland. The strong development of Buddhism in Nghe An in particular and in the whole country in general is a clear demonstration of religious freedom in Vietnam.

On the occasion of the solemn holiday, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that monks, nuns and Buddhists will continue to promote the fine traditions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, follow the example of the late Venerable Thich Thanh Ban, strive together with the Party, government and people of the province to build Nghe An province to be increasingly prosperous and happy; and build the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province to be increasingly developed.

The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere with rituals: singing the national anthem - religious songs, preaching, offering incense, singing praises to Buddha, wholeheartedly bowing, praying for national peace and prosperity... Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem - abbot of An Thai pagoda gave a Dharma talk on the meaning of organizing a prayer ceremony at the beginning of the year, bringing many interesting, useful and practical things in life./.
