Solemn death anniversary ceremony of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac in Dong Thap

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 26, at the National Historical Site of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac, Cao Lanh City, the Party Committee and people of Dong Thap Province solemnly held the 87th death anniversary of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac - Father of President Ho Chi Minh.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of leaders of several ministries, departments, central agencies, People's Committees of provinces in the Mekong Delta, descendants of the Nguyen Sinh family and many people of Dong Thap province. The delegation of Nghe An province was led by comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

Many people attended the death anniversary of the Vice-Chancellor.

Nguyen Sinh Sac was born in the year of Nham Tuat (1862) in Lang Sen, Kim Lien, Nam Dan, Nghe An. After leaving the officialdom, he traveled to many places in the South and to Cambodia to spread the ideology of patriotism and love for the people, as a Confucian scholar who treated the poor.

From 1917, he often went back and forth to help people prescribe medicine to treat diseases and propagate patriotism and hatred for invaders to the people of Hoa An village, Cao Lanh (Dong Thap). He died on October 27, 1929, lunar calendar, at the age of 67.

During the anniversary, many cultural and artistic activities took place at the relic site such as: Artistic photo exhibition about Dong Thap land and people, Trang Nguyen contest, Children's painting contest based on books, Don ca tai tu and Dong Thap ho contest... Along with that, there were physical education and sports activities such as: chess, Chinese chess...

The 87th anniversary of Nguyen Sinh Sac's death is an annual event held to express the people's respect and gratitude for the contributions, morality and noble personality of Nguyen Sinh Sac in the cause of national liberation and nation building. This is also an opportunity to promote tourism potential and tourism products to visitors.
