Awarded 152 million VND to support the construction of gratitude houses in Thanh Chuong district
(Baonghean.vn) - On March 13, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs coordinated with Thanh Chuong district and representatives of sponsors to organize a donation ceremony to support the construction of gratitude houses for relatives of martyrs in the district.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Phan Sy Thao - Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs; Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Deputy Director of Tan Cang Northern Branch - Saigon New Port Corporation; Mr. Ho Duc Thanh - Chairman of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province; Mr. Trinh Van Nha - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district.
In Thanh Chi commune, the Association presented 80 million VND donated by Saigon New Port Corporation to Mr. Tran Duc Ban (born in 1956), a relative of martyr Tran Thi Tham, in Chi Hong village, Thanh Chi commune.
Martyr Tran Thi Tham was born into a family with a revolutionary tradition of 5 siblings, she was the 5th child in the family. Growing up, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, she joined the resistance war against French colonialism and sacrificed her life in 1931.
Mr. Tran Duc Ban is the nephew of a martyr, and was authorized by his brothers to worship martyr Tran Thi Tham. His family is one of the poorest households in the commune.

The delegation also presented 50 million VND to Ms. Tran Thi Tam (born in 1982), a poor household in Long Tien hamlet, Thanh Long commune, to build a house of gratitude. The above amount was supported by the Party Committee of the Central Agencies.
Mrs. Tam is in a particularly difficult situation. She used to live with her mother, but since her mother passed away, she has been living alone and is often sick, so she relies on her two brothers who live in the same neighborhood for everything.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs also presented each household with 1 million VND.

These are the 481st - 482nd houses of gratitude that the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province called for and mobilized organizations and units to support. This meaningful activity demonstrates the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", caring for and improving the material and spiritual life of poor households, families of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution to welcome a warm traditional New Year, helping families of martyrs have solid houses, reduce difficulties and stabilize their lives.
