Awarding 200 'Sowing Knowledge' scholarships worth 400 million VND to disadvantaged students in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - This is a meaningful encouragement for students with difficult circumstances to strive to study well in Nghe An province.

On the afternoon of April 12, in Nam Dan district, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union coordinated with Tuoi Tre newspaper and accompanying businesses to organize the scholarship program "Sowing seeds of knowledge".

The organizing committee awarded 100 scholarships to 100 disadvantaged students in Nam Dan district. Each scholarship is worth 2 million VND, including a bicycle and school supplies.

In the following days, 100 scholarships for students in Thanh Chuong district, worth 200 million VND, will continue to be awarded to the locality.

This is one of the scholarships under the program “For a Developing Tomorrow” initiated by Tuoi Tre Newspaper since 1988. Although it has appeared under many different names such as: Supporting School, Sowing Seeds of Knowledge, Wings of Dreams, Bright Spots of the Medical Industry, or Accompanying Teachers... However, developing education - nurturing green shoots for the future is always the main criterion of the program.

After more than 35 years of continuous operation, the scholarship program "For tomorrow's development"565 programs have been implemented. The total value of the programs has mobilized more than 336.6 billion VND; helping about 69,525 students go to school.

At the program, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nguyen - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper and the representative of the sponsoring unit affirmed that this is a meaningful program stemming from the desire to join hands in caring for the community, especially children - the future of the country. Through the scholarships, the program's Organizing Committee has sent a message of encouragement and support to children in difficult circumstances to make more efforts in their studies and life./.
