Award Ceremony for the 19th National Youth Informatics Competition
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 2nd, the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the 19th National Youth Informatics Competition, 2013, took place in Vinh City. Attending the ceremony were: Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong – Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; and Mr. Dinh Viet Hong – Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

According to the judging panel's assessment, the contestants this year generally had a relatively even level of proficiency. Contestants from disadvantaged areas and ethnic minorities were not inferior to those from urban areas in terms of skills and abilities. In the general competition for primary and secondary school students this year, three entries received the maximum score, including the entry by Ha Huy Cong, a 5th-grade student from Truong Thi Primary School in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, which scored 99/100 points.
The innovative software competition surprised the judging panel this year with its many innovative entries related to cybersecurity and social issues, some utilizing advanced programming languages. Particularly noteworthy was the head-to-head competition, where many teams employed clever and unexpected strategies to secure victories.

The Central Committee of the Youth Union awarded certificates of merit to 10 units.

The organizing committee awarded 7 first prizes, 14 second prizes, and 24 third prizes across three educational levels. The committee also awarded supplementary prizes to the youngest contestant and contestants from ethnic minorities. Intel awarded prizes for three innovative software programs. The Ministry of Education presented certificates of merit to four first-prize winners.
The Nghe An delegation had Ha Huy Cong, a 5th-grade student from Truong Thi Primary School in Vinh City, win first prize, and Hoang Phan Huu Phuc win third prize in the primary school category.
