The 2016 Choong Temple Festival is the first festival held since the Choong Temple was recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic by the People's Committee of Nghe An province under Decision No. 3051-QD/UBND dated July 16, 2015.

The festival is organized in two parts: In the ceremonial part, there is the proclamation ceremony, the procession of the sacred cross; the buffalo submission ceremony, the opening ceremony, the great sacrifice ceremony and the thanksgiving ceremony. In the festival part, in addition to sports activities, there are also beauty contests, art competitions, gong competitions, carving competitions, ethnic costumes performances, etc.

Women's volleyball and ethnic sports: First prize for the whole team went to Chau Thai commune, second prize for Chau Quang commune and third prize for Van Loi commune.

For the camp content, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Chau Cuong commune, the second prize to Chau Ly and Tam Hop communes, and the third prize to Nam Son, Ha Son and Chau Quang communes; for the art performance content: The first prize was awarded to Nghia Xuan, Chau Ly communes and Quy Hop town.
