Tattoo trend of Nghe An youth
(Baonghean) - In recent years, tattoos have been considered a new trend among young people, expressing personality and being seen as a unique form of personal adornment, but it has left behind consequences worth mentioning...
The trend of expressing personality
With the consent of D.C. - an owner of an artistic tattoo shop in Le Mao ward (Vinh city), I witnessed a tattoo with a full procedure. I said I was lucky because according to the shop owner, although social prejudice against tattoos is not as heavy as before, customers who come to get tattoos still feel apprehensive and want to keep information about their tattoos confidential. Therefore, the appearance of strangers will make them unhappy.
The customer in the shop that day was a young girl about 20 years old. After the artist showed her reference pictures and advised her on popular tattoo styles, she decided to choose a bright red velvet rose, surrounded by stylized leaves, and the tattoo location was her right shoulder blade.
Up to now, there are no detailed legal regulations on the type of artistic tattoo activities. To operate, individuals and organizations must register their activities according to the provisions of the Enterprise Law 2014 and Decree 78/2015/ND-CP dated14/9/2015However, information from the Department of Planning and Investment shows that currently, most tattoo establishments in the province have not registered for business licenses. |
According to research, in recent years, the number of young people seeking tattoos has increased, of which a significant number are women. Some tattoo shop owners said that customers are diverse in class and target. The price of a tattoo ranges from a few hundred thousand dong to tens of millions of dong, depending on the tattoo area, the artistic sophistication of the tattoo and the brand of the shop and the artist.

Tattoo artist for customer in Vinh city. |
Currently, there are more than 30 tattoo shops in the whole province, with Vinh city alone accounting for more than half. The tattoo artist community in Vinh city has established the Vinh City Tattoo Association for more than a year now, with the goal of strengthening ties and learning more experience and skills in the profession.
Lost opportunity because of...tattoo
In Vietnam, tattoos always have conflicting views. Supporters believe that this is simply an art form; many people consider tattoos to be a bad thing. NTKA - a customer service employee of a large bank in Vinh city shared: During a service consultation, a customer saw the tattoo on KA's arm and immediately refused, asking to meet the manager to react! The reason the customer gave was that the tattoo showed KA's bad past, and she insisted on forcing the bank to change the consultant. That time, KA was reprimanded by the agency and after that, she did not receive many job opportunities.

Allergic to tattoo ink |
In addition, the tattoo community has countless stories about impulsive and spontaneous tattoos. Many couples get their lover's name, age and date of birth tattooed together, then a few months later they break up and go to a tattoo artist to remove the tattoo. Or, many young men, following the advice of their friends, get large tattoos on their backs, and a few years later, when taking the entrance exams to some universities, police academies, military schools... they have to accept failure at the... parking lot! There are many "half-laughing, half-sad" stories about tattoos. Therefore, when getting a tattoo, you need to think carefully to avoid regrets later.
On the other hand, not all tattoo establishments are reputable and of good quality. Serving the trend of young people, many spontaneous tattoo establishments have sprung up, many new tattoo artists who "learn from the master" for a few days or half a month also dare to practice their profession. The quality of tattoo tools and ink is difficult to control, no one can guarantee absolute safety for the health of customers. Even professional tattoo artists do not deny that during the tattooing process, there have been cases where customers were allergic to tattoo ink causing itching, skin infections causing ulcers, or worse, convulsions, sweating...
Dr. Le Hong Linh - Head of the Department of Private Medical Practice Management, Nghe An Department of Health said that although tattooing involves techniques that impact the human body, the legal regulations on the health sector have not mentioned this type of practice. Therefore, up to now, there has been no inspection team on tattooing activities. |
Doctor CKII Nguyen Xuan Tuc - Director of the Provincial Center for Leprosy Prevention and Dermatology said that many years ago, the center received many cases of people coming to ask for tattoo removal. Although tattoo removal technology is increasingly advanced and modern, tattoo removal still leaves many consequences. The price of tattoo removal is very expensive, many elaborate tattoos, large areas must be removed, re-removed many times and the scars left on the skin after removal are difficult to overcome.
