Donated more than 18,000 textbooks to students in flood-affected areas

This is a meaningful gift for students in the flood-hit areas of Nghe An on the first day of the new school year. Through this, it sends a message of providing knowledge and helping them achieve their dreams of going to school.

On the afternoon of September 5, at the Department of Education and Training, Vietnam Education Publishing House awarded 17,000 VND in support.textbookworth 300 million VND to support students in flood-affected areas in the province. In addition, Nghe An School Equipment and Books Joint Stock Company also donated thousands of supplementary books, notebooks and school supplies with a total value of 360 million VND to help schools and students overcome damage caused by storms and floods.

On the same day, representatives of the two units attended the opening ceremony and presented more than 1,000 textbooks and many other teaching equipment and supplies to students of Thach Giam 1 Town Primary School, Tuong Duong District.

During the flood caused by storm No. 3, according to school statistics, nearly 170 students suffered losses due to flooding. Many students still do not have enough textbooks and school supplies to go to school because their families lost all their belongings.

At the awarding ceremony, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh expressed his gratitude to the two units for their attention and support to students in the flood-affected areas of Nghe An province. At the same time, he pledged that all the supported books would be delivered to students and schools as soon as possible so that students could have enough textbooks for the new school year.

Representatives of the companies also affirmed that, in addition to supporting books for students in flood-affected areas, the units also committed to accompanying the Nghe An Education Department to implement many other contents such as donating library bookshelves to disadvantaged schools, supporting textbooks and learning materials for poor and disadvantaged students.
