Awarding ceremony of the Campaign to compose songs about Nghe An homeland

On the evening of December 26, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to summarize and award the prizes for the Campaign to compose songs about Nghe An homeland.

The campaign was launched by the Provincial People's Committee from December 27, 2017 to September 30, 2018 to select new compositions to serve major holidays in 2018 - 2020; to encourage Nghe An people to work enthusiastically, to build Nghe An into a model province.

Songs participating in the campaign must be musical works of high quality in content and art; content praising the beauty of the Soviet homeland, reflecting the great achievements that the Party Committee and people of Nghe An have achieved in the fields of politics, economy, culture and society. The songs must also be works that reflect the cultural identity of the 6 ethnic groups living together in Nghe An.

The campaign is not only a local competition but has been elevated to become a campaign to find works about Nghe An that have lasting value, truly reach the public; and become excellent works about Nghe An.

After more than 9 months of launching, the Organizing Committee has received 117 works from 83 authors. In addition to authors from Nghe An who are living and working in the province, including famous authors such as Phan Thanh Chuong, Thanh Luu, Tran Quoc Chung... the contest also attracted many authors from all over the country, many professional authors but also amateur authors.

After a period of evaluation and consideration based on content and artistic criteria, the Organizing Committee has selected 42 songs out of 117 works to enter the final round. These are quality works, ensuring professionalism in song structure and lyrics, addressing the topics of Nghe An land and people.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 7 Consolation prizes; there was no First prize.

The two works that won the Second Prize include: The Moon at the Sea Gate - Author Phan Thanh Chuong - Nghe An and The Sparkling of My Homeland Nghe - Author Vu Trung - Binh Dinh.
