Awards Ceremony of the 2015 Vietnam Folk Song Festival
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 18th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Song Heritage, held an awards ceremony for collectives and individuals participating in the 2015 Vietnam Folk Song Festival.
This is an opportunity for the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to commend the achievements of the folk singing clubs in the Northern Central region, which participated in two rounds of the Folk Song Festival held in Hue City and the national folk song finals held in Vinh City. It also serves to review the results achieved in the folk singing and playing movement in various localities, especially after the Nghe Tinh folk singing was recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Eleven artisans were awarded Certificates of Merit at the Vietnam Folk Song Festival. They are exemplary figures in the folk singing movement of Nghe Tinh province, coming from folk song clubs in the localities of Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Tan Ky, Yen Thanh, and Ky Son.

With great honor and pride, the artisans receiving Certificates of Merit in this round will contribute to encouraging and promoting the folk singing and playing movement of clubs in the area. This will help spread the love of folk songs and melodies to a wider audience throughout the province.
