Awarding outstanding achievements in the fight against drugs to Nghe An Border Guard

Previously, through many sources of information and professional measures,Nghe An Border Guarddiscovered 2 drug crime lines from abroad connecting with subjects in Vietnam to illegally buy, sell, and transport drugs. Through verification documents, on December 15, 2022, the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command established a special project coded NA 1222 to fight and destroy.

Implementing phase 1 of project NA 1222, at 5:35 p.m. on December 24, 2022, at landmark 404 on the Vietnamese side of Tien Tieu village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, the task force discovered and arrested Pum Xom Ma Ni Vong (born in 1996), residing in Din Dam village, Noong Het Tay village cluster, Noong Het district, Xieng Khouang province (Laos), for illegally transporting drugs. The seized evidence included 4,000 pink synthetic drug pills.

Entering phase 2 of the project, at 9:30 a.m. on January 25 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), when the subjects were transporting drugs to Pieng Cooc village, Mai Son commune, Tuong Duong district, the Drug and Crime Prevention and Control force in coordination with Nhon Mai Border Guard Station, Muong Ai, Nam Can International Border Gate discovered and arrested Xong Tong Xo (born in 1991) and Xong Teng (born in 2002), both residing in Muong Quan district, Hua Phan province (Laos) for illegally transporting drugs. The seized evidence was 12kg of opium resin and 12,000 pink synthetic drug pills along with many related documents and evidence.

Project NA 1222 ended, the authorities arrested 3 subjects, seized 16,000 pink synthetic drug pills, 12kg of opium resin, and many related documents, ensuring absolute safety of people and weapons.

After successfully dismantling Project NA 1222, on January 25, 2023 (the 4th day of Lunar New Year), the reconnaissance force continued to monitor the area. Based on the analysis and assessment of the local situation and the subjects, on January 31, 2023, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province agreed to report to the superiors to implement Project NA 223.

At 19:45, February 21, 2023, in Tien Tieu village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province, the crime-fighting force discovered and caught red-handed two subjects Cho Gia (born in 1994), residing in Pa Lan village, and Chu Gia (born in 1996), residing in Xan Nhom village, both in Tham Thao village cluster, Noong Het district, Xieng Khouang province (Laos), in the act of illegally transporting drugs. The seized evidence included 54,000 pink synthetic drug pills, the process of organizing and implementing the crime-solving process ensured absolute safety for people and weapons.

At the award ceremony, Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command warmly congratulated the outstanding achievements of the Nghe An Border Guard. Because the task of drug prevention is a particularly important task to protect sovereignty and border security. In particular, the projects have ensured the safety of the participating forces. The coordination plan has also been implemented smoothly between the forces fighting the case.

In the coming time, the drug and crime situation will still be a burning issue, especially in Nghe An which is identified as a complex area with many heavy tasks. Therefore, Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that in the coming time, the Party Committee and Command of the Nghe An Border Guard need to continue to promote tradition and professional capacity. Direct and lead the Party Committees and commanders of units at all levels to do a good job of political and ideological education, comprehensive education so that officers and soldiers can work with peace of mind.

In the work, it is necessary to have a firm grasp of the area, have a specific and meticulous plan. Coordinate synchronously and comprehensively all professional measures to complete the tasks assigned by the Project Board. At the same time, constantly learn and draw experience from each project to have effective methods of solving cases.
