Nha’s family is in a very difficult situation. Her grandmother had an accident and broke her leg and cannot walk on her own. About 5 years ago, Nha’s father (62 years old) also had a serious stroke. The after-effects of the stroke left him paralyzed on one side of his body and he is currently receiving social assistance.
Nha has 8 siblings and is the 6th child in the family. A few years ago, one of Nha's younger brothers drowned and died. One of Nha's older brothers is deaf and mute and works as a bricklayer to make a living. The family has 4 unmarried children, 2 of whom are still in school.
Admiring Nha's brave spirit and sharing the difficulties of her family, the group of Artists, consisting of members from Nghe An and Ha Tinh living and working all over the country as well as abroad, has mobilized donations to help her family overcome this pain.
After a week of campaigning, the group raised 120 million VND. Representatives of the Artisan group coordinated with local authorities to visit the family and give them the money.
Previously, for Nha's noble and courageous actions, on May 6, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also signed a decision to posthumously award the Medal of Courage to her. The People's Committees of Nghe An Province and Thua Thien Hue Province also posthumously awarded her a Certificate of Merit. Currently, localities and competent agencies are completing the dossier to recognize student Nguyen Van Nha as a martyr according to regulations.
