In addition to the tea areas with burnt leaves, Thanh Duc commune, Thanh Chuong district has about 3 hectares of tea that are severely burnt and difficult to save. Mr. Nguyen Ba Son - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: The whole commune has nearly 1,000 hectares of tea, of which, about 30% in Suong hamlet, 12/9, 26/3 have invested in irrigation systems. However, due to prolonged heat, in many areas the water source has dried up and can no longer be irrigated.

Up to now, Thanh Chuong district has nearly 500 hectares of tea leaves scorched, scattered in all the tea-growing communes of the district. If the heat continues like this for a few more days, the risk of tea dying on a large scale is very high.

Up to now, the entire Anh Son district has had 211 hectares of tea with scorched leaves. And in addition to the 250 hectares of tea that have been invested in irrigation systems and are still able to be "saved", the entire remaining tea area of the district is in a very dangerous situation.

In Con Cuong district, by June 22, 138 hectares out of 356 hectares of tea in the district had leaf burns, concentrated in Yen Khe, Chi Khe and Bong Khe communes.

Most of the wells used to irrigate the tea have been dry for the past 20 days. We can only advise people not to harvest tea during the dry season and to cover the roots to keep the tea moist.
