Deploying national civil aviation security and safety work in 2025
On the afternoon of February 25, the Government held a conference to review the work of 2024 and deploy the work of 2025 of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee.
The conference was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha. Also attending were representatives from ministries, sectors, aviation businesses and provinces with airports across the country.

Timely grasp and handle aviation security violations
In 2024, Vietnam's aviation market will continue to grow steadily. The total air transport market is estimated to reach 76.4 million passengers and 1.29 million tons of cargo, an increase of 5.1% in passengers and 20% in cargo compared to 2023.
In the context of the complicated political security situation in the world and the region leading to increased risks and dangers to aviation security, however, Vietnam's aviation security has been maintained, without any complicated incidents, which has been highly appreciated by the international aviation association. According to statistics, the total number of aviation security violations is 294, a decrease of 25 cases compared to the same period in 2023.

In Nghe An, in 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued many documents directing relevant departments, branches, sectors and units to carry out tasks of ensuring civil aviation security and safety. Thanks to that, at Vinh International Airport, the functional forces have effectively carried out the work of ensuring security and safety; proactively and creatively in emergency situations against illegal interference in civil aviation activities.
Through that, we discovered and coordinated the handling of 1 case, 1 subject using invalid documents to take a plane; 3 cases of illegal transportation of weapons, support tools, explosives; 1 case related to kite flying that obstructed flight operations; 1 case of a passenger causing disturbance on a plane; organized the safe escort of 42 subjects who were suspects, defendants, prisoners, and people arrested under arrest warrants by air.
Ensuring aviation security and safety in the new situation
At the conference, ministries, branches, localities and units discussed and evaluated the contents related to ensuring civil aviation security in recent times; at the same time, proposed solutions to overcome and respond to possible incidents.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized the role of ensuring and improving the capacity to ensure aviation security and safety in the new situation. Thereby, it is required to issue a plan closely following the motto "prevention is better than cure"; develop plans, organize training and education in strict compliance with standards and regulations on aviation security and safety in all fields and localities; promote the combined strength of the entire political system, and synchronously deploy aviation security solutions.
