Implementing clean water supply and sanitation projects.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of July 26th, in Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district, the Central Region Water Supply and Sanitation Project (funded by an ADB loan) held a ceremony to announce the bidding package for the construction of clean water supply and sanitation facilities.
Attending the meeting were representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Nghe An Provincial Water Supply and Sanitation Project Management Board, local authorities, and representatives of the households benefiting from the project.

This is the first pilot sub-project using loan capital from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the clean water sector in Nghe An province. The Dien Yen Clean Water and Sanitation Project has a total investment of VND 52.8 billion, of which the water treatment plant construction package is worth over VND 37 billion. According to the design, the clean water plant has a capacity of 1,700 m3/day and uses modern water treatment technology meeting the standards of the Ministry of Health. The construction package will take over 15 months to complete and, upon completion, will provide clean water to more than 3,700 households in the commune.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, a representative of the Nghe An Provincial Water Supply and Sanitation Project Management Board acknowledged the efforts of local authorities and sectors in the investment preparation process. In the future, the local government and beneficiaries need to strengthen communication efforts; community activities; land clearance; capital contribution; project monitoring; pipeline network development... and especially implement solutions to manage and utilize the project effectively, ensuring its sustainability.
The representative of the joint venture contractor, Dai Viet JSC, also committed to ensuring the progress and quality of the project for handover to the local authorities for operation.
