Deploying software to build a balanced nutritional menu
(Baonghean) - On the morning of September 12, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with Ajinomoto Vietnam Company to organize a Conference to deploy 'Software for Building Balanced Nutrition Menus'.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, Ajinomoto Vietnam Company, the Department of Education and Training, leaders and experts of the Department of Education and Training, the Board of Directors and officers in charge of boarding work, and representatives of the Parents' Association of 51 boarding primary schools in Nghe An province.
This is a software of the School Meal Project initiated and developed by Ajinomoto Vietnam Company and implemented by the National Institute of Nutrition - Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Training, helping to provide and build nutritionally balanced, diverse, delicious menus and support the management of boarding meals.
The menus in the Nutritional Balance Menu Building Software were developed over a year, going through many processes from survey, analysis, formula development, experimentation to careful adjustment, then approved by the Appraisal Council of the National Institute of Nutrition - Ministry of Health and the Appraisal Council of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The software provides schools with a rich menu bank, including 120 available menus with over 360 non-repetitive dishes for lunch, nutritionally balanced according to age needs, diverse and delicious; divided into 3 regions: North, Central and South.
The software has outstanding features that help schools create new menus by combining available dishes in the menu bank or by choosing ingredients suitable for each locality; check the nutritional value of the school's current menus, helping schools calculate and manage student meal costs.

Since March 2017, Ajinomoto Company has started to coordinate with the Departments of Education and Training to deploy "Software for building balanced nutritional menus" in primary schools nationwide and has now expanded to 31 provinces and cities.

Currently, the software is provided completely free of charge on the Project's website: www.buaanhocduong.com.vn. On the side, Ajinomoto Vietnam Company will send staff to each school to directly support and guide the school on how to use the software, how to use the "3-minute change of awareness" poster to guide students, and advise on improving work efficiency in the kitchen...
