Deploying response plan for storm Sonca

(Baonghean.vn) - To proactively respond to storm No. 4, internationally named Sonca, the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province has directed units on the province's two border lines to urgently deploy plans to minimize damage caused by the storm.

On the sea route, units have actively coordinated with local authorities, forces and vehicle owners to find ways to inform fishermen operating at sea about the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm, dangerous areas to proactively prevent and maintain regular contact with ship and boat owners to promptly handle situations that arise.

Nghe An province has 4,502 vehicles with 20,212 workers directly fishing at sea. As of 8:00 a.m. this morning, there were still 17 vehicles / 95 workers on their way to shore to avoid the storm.

Border Guard stations are on standby with 100% of their troops at the unit, and at the same time, 12-15 comrades are sent to coordinate with local authorities to directly go to the area to be ready to respond when a situation occurs. The Provincial Border Guard Command has established 2 teams to inspect the rescue and relief work, directly commanded by Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc - Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff of the Provincial Border Guard.

At the Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Guard Station, 100% of the troops are on duty, ready to respond to storms when necessary. Learning from the experience of storm No. 2, the unit has deployed forces to trim tree branches, anchor houses and coordinate with local authorities to help people with storm shelter plans when situations arise.

The two Border Guard stations of Cua Lo and Cua Hoi have deployed plans to call on boats to return to shelters to avoid the storm. Up to now, the two stations have coordinated with local authorities, vehicle owners and through information channels to call on 646 vehicles to return to safe shelters, currently more than 10 vehicles are on their way to shore to avoid the storm.
