The world's first selfie exhibition
The Saatchi Gallery in London opened on March 31 an exhibition called "Selfie to Expression", the world's first exhibition on the history of the selfie.
From early self-portraits to contemporary mobile phone selfies, an exhibition in London explores the creative side of a form of expression often derided as meaningless: the selfie.

Visitors can click “like” as they like, and a heart will appear just like when you use Instagram.
The exhibition begins with Rembrandt’s proud self-portraits from the 17th century, through Vincent Van Gogh, to the self-portraits of the present day. Essentially, in both periods, these are a way of self-affirmation and self-expression, but in a completely different way.
In modern times, selfies are everywhere. The word selfie was even officially recognized by the Oxford English Dictionary in 2013.
The show also highlights the growing importance of smartphones as a creative tool, showcasing 10 young British photographers whose artworks use dual-camera smartphones. The exhibition also features selfies by renowned photographers.
You can find some of the most famous selfies here, from David Beckham, Kim Kardashian, Donald Trump, or even an animal's first selfie.
