Exhibition "Vietnamese Village Temples: What Remains and What Has Been Lost"

From August 8th to 23rd, the exhibition "Vietnamese Village Temples: What Remains and What Has Been Lost," organized by the Vietnamese Village Temples group, will be held in Hanoi. It will present to the public unique images of village temple architecture, as well as sculptural works used for decoration within these temples. Through this, viewers can appreciate the cultural and historical values, and the artistic talent of many generations, as expressed through the system of village temples.

The exhibition displays photographs showcasing the beautiful architecture and sculptures of village communal houses; and the current state of these relics, which are deteriorating or being distorted by nature or by human actions.

Within the framework of the exhibition, there will also be a Phu Tho Xoan singing program (August 8th), a performance of "Night Festival Song" (August 9th), a seminar on "Village Heritage: What Remains and What Has Been Lost in the Hearts of the People" (August 16th), a seminar on "Vietnamese Village Temples - What Remains and What Has Been Lost," and a performance of "Cheo Theater in the Temple Courtyard" (August 22nd).

The Vietnamese Village Temple Group, founded by researcher Nguyen Duc Binh (Fine Arts and Photography Magazine - Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions), currently has approximately 4,000 members. Over the past period, the group has carried out many meaningful activities related to village temples, such as: disseminating knowledge about heritage to the community; detecting several cases of damage to relics and improper restoration procedures...
