Taking place from February 15-24, the 2013 Cuba International Book Fair attracted the participation of 150 publishing houses from 31 countries.

Held since 1959, the Cuban International Book Fair has become a cherished tradition in Havana. This year's fair is especially honoring two individuals: Pedro Pablo Rodriguez (a scholar who studies Jose Marti) and Daniel Chavarria, a Uruguayan writer currently residing in Cuba and winner of the 2011 Cuban National Literature Prize, author of renowned novels such as Joy and Adios Muchachos.

Angola was the guest of honor this year, so many booths displaying books translated from Angolan into Cuban were set up here. In addition, there were also numerous signs and posters introducing Angolan history.
