Busting a drug trafficking ring with a huge quantity from Laos to Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - The Drug Crime Investigation Police force has successfully broken up a drug trafficking and transportation ring from Laos for consumption in Nghe An and the northern provinces, seizing 120kg of marijuana, 3kg of crystal meth, 2,000 synthetic drug pills, 2 cars and many related exhibits.

From the end of July 2017 until now, the Drug Investigation Police force of Nghe An Police discovered that Pham Quang Tien (born in 1992), residing in Dien Phuc commune, Dien Chau, had many signs of economic uncertainty. In particular, Tien's generous spending habits with crystal meth parties for his friends have raised many questions.

According to the investigation of the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Nghe An Police: Pham Quang Tien is the leader of the illegal drug trafficking ring from abroad to Nghe An and then to the northern provinces for consumption. For a long time, Tien and his accomplices successfully carried out many cases of buying, selling and transporting large quantities of drugs, earning huge profits.

Determined not to let the subjects escape the law and to stop a large amount of smuggled drugs from entering Nghe An and the northern provinces, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Police established Project 817S, in coordination with Thanh Chuong District Police, Traffic Police Team 1-46 (Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Police) to fight and eradicate.

After many days of persistently tracking the movements of the subjects, at 12 noon on August 16, 2017, at the Ho Chi Minh trail in Thanh Xuan commune, Thanh Chuong district, the police force broke the case. Caught red-handed Le Duc Giang (born 1993) and Le Van Tu (born 1994), both residing in Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh, illegally transporting drugs in a Fortuner car with license plate 37A 027.57, confiscating 120kg of marijuana, 3kg of crystal meth, and 2,000 synthetic drug pills.

Following the hot trail, the police force continued to urgently arrest two subjects Pham Quang Tien and Cao Tuan Tu (born 1995), residing in Dien Hoa commune, Dien Chau, and confiscated an Innova car.

At the police station, the subjects confessed that they often went to Huong Son (Ha Tinh) to buy drugs from Lao people and then transported them to the North for consumption. The transportation route did not follow a fixed route to avoid the authorities.

In particular, to cover up their crimes, the subjects used their wives, children, and friends to travel with them in the car to mislead the investigation agency. However, all of their sophisticated tricks were exposed by the police.
