Dismantling a ring producing thousands of fake degrees

On the afternoon of April 13, the Department of Police Investigation of Crimes on Social Order (C45) announced that it had just dismantled an organization specializing in making fake degrees and certificates in large quantities, arrested 7 people involved and summoned many others.

Initial information said that this ring specializing in producing fake degrees and certificates was led by Le Tan Cuong (30 years old, from Binh Dinh).

Also arrested with Cuong were Lu Minh Tri (31 years old, from Binh Dinh), Ho Thi Thanh Vy (29 years old, from Ben Tre), Tran Tu Dung (55 years old, from Tien Giang), Le Minh Tuan (24 years old, from Binh Dinh), Lu Minh Tam (26 years old, from Binh Dinh) and Ta Xuan Thuy (26 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City).

According to the source, these people use social networks like Facebook, Zalo, and Viber to advertise making all kinds of degrees, certificates, foreign languages, including master's and doctoral degrees, ID cards, and household registration books, with prices ranging from 1.5 to 5.5 million VND per type of degree or document.

Every day, this line produces 10-20 documents, degrees, certificates and earns tens of millions.

This group's way of dealing with "customers" is always via the internet or phone, never directly contacting customers.

The total number of fake degrees and certificates produced and sold by this group is in the thousands. It is worth mentioning that many customers have bought even medical university degrees.
