At 01:45 on February 21, at the Vietnam - Laos border marker No. 404 in Tien Tieu village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, the Drug and Crime Prevention Department in coordination with the Nam Can International Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) successfully fought against Project NA 221.2, arresting Xieng Phom My (also known as Kham Bo, born in 1967), residing in Din Dam village, Noong Het Tay village cluster, Noong Het district, Xieng Khouang province, Laos, who was transporting 9 Vietnamese citizens.illegal exitfrom Vietnam to Laos

According to initial investigation results, Xieng Phom My confessed that he was hired by a Vietnamese named Hanh (last name and specific address unknown) to guide 9 Vietnamese people from Tien Tieu village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district to cross the border to Laos for a salary of 5-7 million VND/person.

At the same time, during the border patrol at the area of markers 403 to 404, the Drug and Crime Prevention Department in coordination with the Nam Can International Border Guard Station discovered 4 suspects with illegal exit to Laos. The working group requested to stop for inspection, but 1 suspect ran away, the patrol team arrested 3 suspects. Afterwards, the suspect who ran away was Nguyen Thai Duong (born in 1993), residing in Dien Tan commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province, who turned himself in at the Nam Can Border Guard Station for organizing the illegal escape of the 3 above-mentioned people abroad.
