Eliminate mobile gambling den on Lam River

Hung Nguyen District Police have just successfully broken up a case, raided a mobile gambling den.on a boat in the middle of Lam River in the border area between Hung Nguyen district and Nam Da districtn.Temporarily seized evidence worth nearly 200 million VND.

According to the police, this is a very sophisticated and organized gambling ring led by Nguyen Van Thang (born in 1979) residing in Hamlet 4, Hung Linh Commune, Hung Nguyen District. To deal with the police and ensure the gambling takes place safely, they arranged for people to strictly guard the area along the Lam River dike and used cars to pick up gamblers from different meeting points and then take them to the Lam River bank.

Accordingly, the departure and arrival points often changed to avoid detection by the authorities. When the subjects boarded the boat and gambled, the boat was let drift along the Lam River.

At around 4:00 a.m. on August 14, using synchronous professional measures, the reconnaissance force quickly approached and arrested 13 gamblers. Temporarily seized nearly 200 million VND, 2 cars, 10 cell phones, 1 iron-hulled boat... Currently, Hung Nguyen District Police are temporarily detaining 9 subjects; at the same time, consolidating documents and evidence to clarify the subjects' actions to handle them according to the law.
