Destroying a complex drug den, seizing many 'hot' weapons

On July 29, Que Phong District Police said that the unit had just coordinated with Kim Son Town Police to successfully fight and destroy a retail location and organize illegal use of drugs; confiscating many "hot" weapons.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, the drug crime prevention and control detectives of the district police found a complex drug den right in Kim Son town where "addicts" from inside and outside the area went to buy and use drugs, causing anger and anxiety among the people.

Verifying the information, the detectives determined that the drug den was organized by Lu Xuan Mui (born in 1979), residing in Hong Phong block, Kim Son town. The subject had 2 previous convictions for drug-related crimes. Having just been released from prison, Mui continued to collude with some Laotian subjects he had known before to buy drugs for both use and resale to make illegal profits. In particular, to serve the drug trafficking, Lu Xuan Mui equipped himself with firearms for self-defense.

Determined to destroy the above drug den, Que Phong District Police established a special project to fight. On July 24, when they received information that Lu Xuan Mui and some other subjects were present at the house, the special project team decided to crack the case.

At 12:30 p.m. on July 24, the Criminal Police Team on Crime, Economy, and Drugs coordinated with Kim Son Town Police to deploy forces and suddenly raid the "den" of illegal drug trading and use right at Lu Xuan Mui's house.

When they discovered that they were being surrounded and arrested by the police, Mui and two other subjects, Quang Thi Dung (born in 1984), residing in Hong Phong block, Kim Son town, Que Phong district, and Huynh Ba Duong (born in 1985), residing in Thac Gian ward, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city, fled into their bedroom, locked the door, and held a knife and sword, refusing to cooperate with the task force.

After more than 3 hours of persistently persuading the subjects to give up their intention of resisting, laying down their weapons, and cooperating with the police, at 3:45 p.m. the same day, taking advantage of their carelessness, the detectives quickly approached and successfully controlled the 3 subjects.

At the scene, the police discovered and seized in Mui's pants pocket a K54 gun with 5 bullets, a knife and a sword. Searching Mui's house, they discovered and seized 4 more synthetic drug pills, 1 homemade gun, 13 pig-slaughtering knives and swords of various types, 2 mobile phones and some related evidence.

At the police station, through initial investigation, Mui confessed: The K54 gun belonged to a Laotian subject who asked Mui to keep it for him. The subject also gave Mui about 20 synthetic drug pills; he gradually used them up, and only had 4 pills left.

It is known that Dung is a local and came to live with Mui as husband and wife; and Duong is an acquaintance of Mui in prison, so he took a bus from Da Nang City to visit his house and borrow money.
