Nearly 5,000 Mazda 2 cars must be recalled in Vietnam due to the check engine light phenomenon. |
The cause is due to carbon deposits that form and stick to the fuel injector tip, causing the cross-section of the injection holes at the injector tip to narrow. This reduces the amount of fuel injected into the combustion chamber, causing the ECU (engine control unit) to issue a warning by turning on the check engine light.
Recalled vehicles will be inspected and repaired by cleaning the injectors, using a cleaning solution (Deposit Cleaner), updating the engine control software (increasing fuel injection pressure) and replacing non-Zinc components in the fuel system.
The recall campaign begins on November 28, 2016 and ends on December 12, 2017. Customers will not be charged for this repair.
Before Mazda 2, another car line distributed by Truong Hai also had to be recalled due to the engine check light phenomenon, the Mazda 3. The number of recalled Mazda 3 cars was more than 11,000.
Mazda 2 1.5L AT sedan version currently has a suggested retail price of 590 million VND while the hatchback version is 645 million VND./.
