(Baonghean)From a poor farmer, thanks to his diligence, hard work, and bold thinking and approach, Mr. Nguyen Van Luc - from Xuan My Parish, Nghi Dong commune (Nghi Loc district) - has risen to wealth and become a young millionaire just over 30 years old.

Born and raised in the impoverished Nghi Dong commune (Nghi Loc district) in a large Catholic family, Nguyen Van Luc did not have the opportunity to finish high school. At twenty years old, he joined the military. Although his more than two years in the army were not long, they were invaluable experiences that helped him become resilient, strong, and taught him the fortitude and courage of a soldier of Uncle Ho's army.

After being discharged from the army and returning to his hometown, Lực started a family in difficult circumstances, without a job. With only a few hundred thousand dong as capital, he decided to discuss with his wife the idea of selling pig offal at the market. His stall was small, but thanks to the fresh produce, it was very popular. Seeing that sales were good, the couple added pork and beef to their offerings. Recognizing that Nghi Đồng had a stable supply of goods and that people preferred products raised on hillside land, he shifted from selling offal to importing it. Thanks to their diligence in finding good quality, inexpensive products and actively expanding their market, Lực and his wife quickly gained a reputation in the pork and beef business in the region.

Following his initial successful steps, young Nguyen Van Luc planned for a long-term business venture, his biggest dream being to become a self-contained food supplier, from livestock farming and processing to product distribution. He put his plan into action, investing all of his family's capital, along with a loan from the policy bank, to lease land and establish two farms totaling nearly 3 hectares. He divided the land into two areas: one dedicated to raising livestock and poultry, and the other for slaughterhouses, storage, and trading. Currently, his farm raises over 3,000 ducks and free-range chickens, and dozens of pigs and cows.

Since investing in a large-scale farm and actively engaging in marketing and market expansion, his family's orders have steadily increased. With advice from a business friend, he applied to establish a business called "Luc Lam Enterprise," registering for food safety and hygiene certifications, and registering with the veterinary unit to facilitate both sellers and buyers when requesting invoices, documents, or other related procedures.

Word spread quickly, and when Metro and BigC supermarkets entered the Vinh market, both of these leading global retailers traveled long distances to find his family. After inspecting the closed-loop processes at the farm, verifying the supply chain, and ensuring all necessary paperwork was in order, he was selected as the main supplier of pork, chicken, and eggs for both supermarkets. Furthermore, he is also the primary food supplier for a number of schools and hotels in Nghi Loc, Vinh City, and Cua Lo Town… His strength lies in the quality of his products. During the farm establishment process, he carefully chose a plot of land on a high hill, sparsely populated and isolated, so disease outbreaks are rare, and if they do occur, they are quickly contained and not easily spread.

Having been involved in the food market since 1998, after more than ten years, Mr. Nguyen Van Luc and his wife, Ms. Hoang Thi Lam, have built a substantial business and established a reputable brand. Currently, their total monthly income is over 1 billion VND, providing regular employment for 19 workers with an average salary of 2.5 - 5 million VND per month. Speaking about his employer, Mr. Pham Van Truong, a driver, said: "What I admire most about Mr. Luc is his hard work, meticulousness, and willingness to overcome difficulties. He also regularly supports the community and neighborhood whenever there are fundraising campaigns, such as assisting the poor and actively participating in social activities."
