North Korea fired 100 artillery shells into the sea off its eastern coast.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Yonhap reported on July 14 that North Korea fired approximately 100 artillery shells into the sea off its eastern coast.
The eastern sea area is near the disputed maritime border with South Korea.
Earlier, according to the Japanese and South Korean militaries, North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles in the early morning of July 13.

These missiles were reportedly launched at 1:20 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. (local time) from the Keasong area. Both missiles flew approximately 500km northeast before falling into the Sea of Japan.
An official from the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said the country's military has raised its alert level and is maintaining the highest state of combat readiness in case North Korea conducts further launches.
This marks North Korea's 14th missile or artillery launch this year. In total, the country has fired more than 90 short- and medium-range missiles and artillery shells since February 21, 2014.
