Unlike ballistic missile launches, cruise missile tests do not violate UN Security Council resolutions, the news agency noted. Therefore, the South Korean military usually does not inform the public about such launches.
North Korea has conducted four weapons tests this year in violation of resolutions. On January 5 and 11, North Korea tested hypersonic missiles. On January 14, it launched two short-range ballistic missiles from a railway rocket system. On January 17, North Korea test-fired two short-range tactical guided missiles.
