North Korea officially speaks out after Kim Jong-nam was murdered
On the evening of February 17, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) officially spoke out for the first time after the assassination of Kim Jong-nam, declaring that North Korea will not accept the results of Malaysia's autopsy.
North Korean Ambassador to Malaysia Kang Chol spoke to reporters outside the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, where Kim's body is being kept, on the evening of February 17. Malaysia's The Star newspaper quoted him as saying: "The Malaysian side conducted an autopsy without our permission or witness. We categorically reject the results of this unilateral autopsy."
The ambassador criticized Malaysia's actions as "violating the human rights of our citizens".

In the statement, Chol also said that North Korea had provided Malaysia with all the necessary documents. According to him, Malaysia initially announced that Mr. Kim had suffered a heart attack and agreed to hand over the body to North Korea, but then delayed the process, despite the deceased having a diplomatic passport. Chol concluded that this showed that "the Malaysian side is trying to hide something", that Malaysia is colluding with hostile forces to harm North Korea.
It is known that Mr. Kim Jong-nam, 45 years old, the elder brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was murdered at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on February 13 while checking in for a trip to Macau. Two female suspects coordinated with each other to spray chemicals or cover Mr. Kim’s face with a cloth soaked in some extremely toxic drug, causing his death./.
